Pictures that I shot of my friend Anika’s acting class are up on The Actors Chapel’s website. It was such a fun and interesting experience to witness an Advance Scene Study Class with an eclectic, diverse group of people.

The Board of Trade Co.

Walking down Main Street heading towards Chinatown, if you were to turn on a little street called Union, you’d be pleasantly surprised to stumble upon a strip of shops, restaurants, and residents that only recently have called this area their home. One of these shops owned by David Lin, Eunice Quan, and Armin Tehrani is called The Board of Trade Co. carrying a range of goods from women’s and men’s fashion and accessories to home wares. Hearing David talk about the store’s inception and where it stands today, it is business owners like this who make me want to try harder to shop locally.

Born in Asia, David spent 10 years around Malaysia and Singapore and then 7 years in Vancouver. While figuring out what to do with his career, he decided to move to Australia to study in the service industry. He graduated with a degree in Hotel Management and International Business.

made my homemade version of milk-bones for mickey. i ate a few and they basically taste like crackers. the recipe is super simple:
- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
combine pumpkin, water, oil, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. gradually add oatmeal and flour. form a dough and roll to 1/4” thickness and cut with a cookie cutter. bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 375° for 40 minutes.
